Unitized C/W Offers Customization to Meet Project Design Needs

“There are a number of customized variables relative to design of a Unitized Curtain Wall System ” said Terry Vivona V.P. of Engineering / Design for ASI Limited. The following are just some of the many variables which can be incorporated into a systems design; Floor-to-floor (10’ vs. 15’ to 17’), module spacing (4’ to 5’ vs. 8’ to 10’), glazing materials (clear low-E vs. higher performance reflective products, plate aluminum vs. composite, limestone, granite, etc.), articulation of glazed products (standard flat insulated panels vs. highly articulated insulated panels), in or out offsets in plane of glazing (either vertically or horizontally) vs. no changes in plane of system, spacing of horizontals and verticals, whether or not a rainscreen system is utilized, finish (anodize vs. custom 3 or 4 coat paint), articulation of system profile (deep, articulated exterior covers vs. no exterior covers) (deep system or shallow system – determined by loads) (3” wide vs. 5” wide profiles), floor height and vertical spacing), use of sunscreens, sunshades, stainless steel cladding, whether or not blast resistant levels are required. All of these examples which can be incorporated into a project design make each project exterior faηade unique.
